Software Security Solutions Inc (SSS), a US technology firm specialising in security solutions for home users and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), is adding automated backup to the company's Layered Security Solution.
The company said that its S3 DataSafe Online Backup offers users secure off-site storage of the critical information that resides on desktops, servers and laptops. Secure remote backup servers gather data from users as files are modified and new ones are added. Data for backup is protected by 3-tiered encryption for maximum privacy and security as it is transmitted over the Internet. As a fail-safe, all data is mirrored to a second geographically remote US data centre.
A fourteen-day free trial of the service is available. Prices for backup subscriptions start at less than USD2 per gigabyte per month, with the price per gigabyte decreasing for larger storage requirements.
